[Related] Free Seminar and Demonstrations: Service Centric Software Engineering
23rd October: Central London
Service-oriented systems and service-oriented architectures (SOA) are maturing although they are still predominantly used to solve integration issues. There is evidence that there are an increasing number of internal markets for services and some external, partner enabled markets. The main roadblock for wider acceptance of SOA is an across the board difficulty with the specification, discovery, composition, testing and monitoring of services. To help service providers, systems integrators, developers and architects respond with the flexibility and speed that the market requires the Service Centric Software Engineering (SeCSE) project has researched and developed solutions of interest.
SeCSE is one of the leading FP6 Integrated Projects on service-centric systems, and many of the results from SeCSE will provide
critical inputs to research and development in S-CUBE. Dissemination
and exploitation of SeCSE results supported by this event will
facilitate evaluation and dissemination of S-CUBE, since S-CUBE will
leverage SeCSE's existing reputation and networks.
This one day workshop will discuss the research products, tools and techniques that can be used to build applications or tools which will have a major impact on developing and deploying service centric solutions. There will be extensive opportunities to discuss all aspects of the project and products and breakout sessions to explore use and implementation of specific areas. The workshop will discuss solutions and demonstrate prototypes of tools that can make the creation of service centric systems simpler and faster. Tools and materials used in the workshop are available online and final results will be available in Open Source. Solutions will be demonstrated in the areas of specification and publishing, requirements led service discovery, architecture led service discovery, composition, monitoring and testing of services and service oriented architectures.
The project is a 4 year collaborative project with Universities and commercial contributors including Microsoft, CA, ATOS, Daimler Chrysler, Fiat, Telefonica and Telecom Italia.
The seminar will take place at the office of CA PLC is in the financial heart of London. Nearest underground stations: Bank or Monument:
