Service Replacement Policies define the rules and conditions to be applied in order to replace a service used by an SBA in different situations. These situations include unavailability or malfunctioning of services; changes in the functional, quality, or contextual characteristics of the services; changes in the context of the service-based system environment; emergence of new services; or changes in the requirements of the system. To enable the identification of replacement services in parallel to the execution of the SBA, a proactive service discovery may be used. The replacement policies may also take into consideration the position of a service S that may need to be replaced with respect to the current execution point of the system. [Mahbub & Zisman, 2009] |
