Coordination protocols describe the message exchanges
between the coordinator and the participants which are needed for coordinating the outcome of a set of services contributing to a distributed computation in a Service Coordination. WS-Coordination has predefined two protocols (aka coordination types) that cover atomic transactions (WS-AtomicTransaction) and long-running business transactions (WS-BusinessActivity) but can be extended in that respect.
